I did it again….I switched my front-end to another trendy framework. I had started building a Next.js version a while back but ultimately hit pause. After listening to a recent Syntax.fm episode, I realized I wanted to move away from a standard Markdown blog and embrace a headless CMS.
So, I switched my stack to SvelteKit (static), Storyblok, and Cloudflare Workers. You know, all the trendy things (and because they have great free tiers). On top of that, I gave my brand a completely new life.
Why the Rebrand?
With the rapid evolution of AI, I realized I can focus much more on the entire, organic lifecycle of a digital idea. From research and market positioning to branding, development, and marketing, it’s easier than ever to take all the things I’m passionate about, speed up the process, and deliver great work. I’m no longer just focused on technical architecture, which I still love. I just felt my old brand was solely representative of the technical side of things, which are increasingly being pushed to AI (and I’m not that angry about it).
New Branding
I went through some personal branding exercises and landed on "The Visionary Engineer," leaning into the archetype of the Solarpunk Architect. It represents a perfect intersection of my beliefs about the digital world. Things should be built organically from the bottom up while keeping that deep, technical foundation in focus.
The brand is organic yet precise. Now, with AI changing the game, people might have the ideas and tools to get their prototypes up and running, but they still need help crossing the finish line. I wanted to be a partner for every step of the digital journey.
The Process
- I started with market positioning, research, and branding exercises to create my new brand essence. (I'm actually going to write a separate blog post about how I approach branding).
- After I had my brand essence and positioning locked in, I moved to content. I spent time really combing through my new services, content structure, etc. Because I needed to ensure I was using my updated tone and voice, I built out all my content outlines in Notion.
- Next, I created the brand identity with the help of Claude Design. I fed my new and old branding into Claude for design ideation, and I’ll be honest, I was fairly impressed.
- Finally, I used Claude Code to speed up the development of my new site. It’s absolutely insane how fast you can move when you already know how things should operate and have a strong technical understanding.
The Solar Architect Brand
If you're wondering what this new identity actually looks and sounds like, everything is built around the archetype of the "Solarpunk Architect". It’s the exact intersection of high-tech engineering (like AI and full-stack development) and a bohemian, plant-filled, open-air aesthetic. The goal is to represent a "clean" future that isn't cold or corporate, but alive and efficient.
My tone of voice moving forward is what I'm calling the "Elite Minimalist". It is confident, direct, and technically sophisticated. I want my communication to be transparent and authoritative which means I'll call out flaws, but I will immediately offer the "clean" solution. Honestly, I don't want to use 100 words when a single code snippet or a clean UI mockup can explain it better. It’s the voice of someone who has been in the trenches but still completely loves the craft.
At the end of the day, my new brand signature is all about "Hardening the Vibe". A lot of startups build strictly on vibes, but my promise is to build on foundations. I want to position myself as an "Equity-Grade" engineering partner, not just a vendor. I take those experimental AI prototypes, build the engine that powers the vision, and turn them into "clean and sexy" production-ready products that can actually scale.
